CBS All Access is a premium streaming service with over 10,000 episodes of some of the most watched shows in the world.

the challenge

Design and rebuild the CBS All Access app from the ground up to elevate the product for mobile users and create a native experience for iOS and Android.

In our process we sought to understand, explore and materialize. Within those larger buckets we broke it down into smaller iterative and cyclical phases:

Solving for a complex flow that Live TV needed was one of the bigger challenges. With CBS's linear channel and News, Sports and ET 24 hour streaming (schedule vs segments), displaying the schedule feed in a way that made sense across these channels and to the user, required in depth UX and user testing.

content first design

We sought to lay out the wealth of content in organized and digestible format keeping the content front and center. We also found balance in displaying the beautiful imagery to create an immersive experience.

results

Design wise, this is a huge step forward in the app streaming platform, leveling up to other major competitors. No real analytics have been gathered as the app will be launching late 2019
